Plant Helper: Stay Cool in the Shade
Dappled light, refreshing shade and cool breezes are just what the doctor
ordered for these plants:

Impatiens

Rating the Exposure:
A northern exposure probably is blocked from the sun all day. This is "full shade".
The east side of your house, unless it's blocked by trees or buildings,
receives sun in the morning and shade for the rest of the day. This is "part shade".
Recipes:
Two upright fuchsias, one trailing fuchsia, one maidenhair fern, and nine impatiens
in mixed colors.
Deep pink or bright orange impatiens for patio planters.
Pale pink or lavender impatiens for a planter in a shady nook.
